Have you abandoned us oh Lord?
We feel not your love.
The body is shaken,
by bullets of metal and ignorance.
We weep yet find no end.
The sorrow returns like worship.
Alone and afraid we sing to the darkness,
so long our voices crack and fail.
When will it be your trumpets call
that pierce our hearts?
How can our certainty be stripped
to bare the weight of pure faith?
Forgive us oh Lord.
Return to our hearts.
